Tree Toppers

Welcome to

Tree Toppers

How do you dress the top of the tree? Well Christmas Light Manufacturers have always thought that it isn't complete unless you have some sort of glowing electric appliance up there. Here are a few examples.

Here is a nice example of a "Kristal Star" tree topper made by the XL company. It was meant to be used with a C6 set.
This is a Paramount Tree Topper Star.
Here is another NOMA tree topper star.
I love this NOMA tree topper. It has a lovely nostalgic charm and still works great. Note how it doesn't "plug in" in the conventional manner, but rather screws into an existing socket on a C6 string, cool huh!
Feast your eyes on this neat Tree Topper made by Propp. I would guess it was made sometime in the early 1920's. Unlike the Noma star above it is a self contained set. The Noma star was meant to be attached to an existing string on the tree. This was intended to be a "stand alone" string. It just needed to be plugged into an open outlet as the three "candles" gave it the 8 lights it needed to be in series.

You can see this set being advertised on this vintage PROPP box liner. The star and three candles are clearly visible. The next challenge will be to find the box that this device came in!
