Day 129
Cooper Lodge, Killington Peak, VT
1673.7 miles

This has been my third day of only 14 miles since leaving Manchester.  The shorter days have had me arriving at the shelters about 4:00 PM and having a little time on my hands.  The first afternoon at Lost Pond shelter I found someone had left a 1990 anthology of SF short stories, so I read a few.  The next night at Minerva Hinchey shelter there was an old Far Side daily calendar.  Today, when I got to Cooper Lodge, I took the steep side trail up to the peak of Killington to check out the view, and then another side trail over to the ski area Gondola and bought myself an ice cream treat from the snack bar.  I've been a bit more relaxed about taking breaks during the day.  I spent quite a while watching a pair of loons diving on Little Rock Pond.
