Hi Paul,

Although many Northbounders saw some snow or ice in the Smokies, I was at lower elevations and was lucky enough to have less precipitation.  I'm pretty sure it was a little below freezing, though, on a few mornings.  It's hard to tell because my cheapo thermometer/zipper pull never reads below 35, but that doesn't jibe with the fact that one of my shelter mates had his water bag freeze solid!  I tend to trust the immutable laws of physics over a bit of plastic and colored alcohol.

If I don't get a chance to say it later, a big congratulations on your pending wedding.  I hope the day begins a lifetime of happiness for you both.
