About
the Illustrator
Melissa Pelletier

Self-taught artist, Melissa Pelletier, has been drawing for as long
as she can remember. While living as a student in Europe, she discovered
that art would always play a major role in her life. There, at the
age of 16, she had an illustration published on the cover of a literary
arts book titled "Sketches".
Melissa works in pencil, watercolor, and ink. Her subject
matter consists of everything from wildly imaginative dreamscapes
flowing with
color and energy,
to photorealistic paintings of lighthouses and wildlife. Her award
winning art is in public and private collections around the world.
Her work has also appeared in the Boston Globe, The Lighthouse Digest,
The Portland Press Herald & several other publications. Melissa
exhibits in art shows throughout Southern Maine in the summer.
   In
addition to her art, Melissa is a writer. She has written and illustrated
a children's activity book titled "Lenny
& Herbie's Maine Adventure Activity Book". She also wrote "Alec
Mitchell and the Secret at King's Cove" an adventure story based
in the fictitious town of King's Cove Maine. The book is due out
in the fall of 2002.
