Outside Line Access

To access an outside line use: LINE or POOLED LINE GRP or any directory number button and dial a line access code.

Basic Calling

To make an Outside Call

Access an outside line.
Dial a telephone number

To make an Internal Call

Lift the handset or press any directory number button
Dial a directory number
Make a voice announcement after you hear a single tone or when the called party answers.

Account Code Calls

To enter a Forced Account Code.

Access an outside line.
Enter the Forced Account Code.
Listen for dial tone. Busy tone indicates an invalid code. If you are dialing with Least Cost Routing, you will not hear dial tone.
Dial a telephone number

To enter a Voluntary Account Code

While on a call connected to a CO or other outside line, press ACCOUNT CODE or SPEED DIAL + 50 or SPEED DIAL + #46. (Note: press * if the SPEED DIAL button isn't on your telephone.)
Dial the Account Code.

Automatic Busy Redial

To activated Automatic Busy Redial

After dialing a busy outside telephone number, press AUTO BUSY REDIAL or CNF/TRN + #44

To cancel Automatic Busy Redial

Press AUTO BUSY REDIAL or any directory number + #44

Automatic Callback

To activate Automatic Callback

After dialing a busy station, a stating in the Do Not Disturb mode, or a busy trunk group, press AUTO CALLBACK or 4.
Hang up. The system calls you when the station or trunk group is available.

To cancel Automatic Callback

Press AUTO CALLBACK or any directory number + #43

Call Park Orbits

To park a call

While on a CO line call or internal call, press PARK IN ORBIT or CNF/TRN + #332
Enter a General Orbit Number (900-919) or a valid primary directory number button. If you have an LCD telephone, enter 999 and the system automatically selects an available orbit.
Hang up.

To retrieve a parked call

Press PARK IN ORBIT or any directory number button + #332
Enter the Orbit Number or primary directory number button where the call is parked

To Park a call and Page

While on a CO line call or internal call, press PARK AND PAGE or CNF/TRN + #331.
Enter a General Orbit Number (900-919) or a valid primary directory number button. If you have a LCD telephone, enter 999 and the system automatically selects an available orbit.
Enter the Paging Access Code and make your announcement.
Hang up.

Call Pickup

Applies to directory number button calls which are ringing or on hold, not parked.

To Pick Up a call at a primary directory number button or a phantom directory number button.

Press the phantom directory button + #5#2 + XXX (XXX represents the phantom directory number button or the primary directory number button you want to pickup. Not available on all systems.)

To Pick Up other types of calls.

Press DIRECTED PICKUP or directory number button + #5
Enter on of the following
The primary directory number of the station ringing or holding the call.
#30 picks up any ringing directory number as a priority, or a page, or ringing door phone if a directory number is not ringing.
#35 to pick up an external page.
9 to pick up any ringing CO line.
#7001-7200 to pickup a CO line on hold. (See your System Administrator for the maximum number of CO lines for your system.)

Call Transfer with Camp-on

To Transfer a call

While on a call, press CNF/TRN.
Dial a directory number.
Announce the call, then hang up. If the station is busy, hang up and the call "camps on" the called number. When the called number is available, the "camped on" party is connect. If the called party does not answer after a certain time, the call rings back to you.

Conference Calls

To make a Conference Call

While on a call, press CNF/TRN.
Dial a directory number (or access an outside line and dial an external telephone number).
Press CNF/TRN after the called party answers. All parties are conferenced together. If you added an outside line to the call, press CNF/TRN again before hanging up to allow the outside parties to continue talking. (If you don't, the call is disconnected.) If the parties are still on the line, press CNF/TRN + SKr, the hang up. When no one is on the line, press SPKR to disconnect the lines.

Do Not Disturb

To activate/deactivate Do Not Disturb

To activate press DO NOT DISTURB (LED on).
To deactivate, press DO NOT DISTURB again (LED off).

Hold

To place a call on Hold

Press HOLD

To retrieve a Held call

Press the held (flashing) line or directory number.

To place a call on Exclusive Hold

While on a call, press HOLD twice. (No one can accidentally pick up your call.)

Handsfree Answerback

To receive a Handsfree Answerback call

You hear a single warning tone followed by the caller's voice.
Without lifting the handset, speak toward the telephone at a normal voice level.

Handsfree Monitoring

To use handsfree monitoring

While off-hook on a call, hold down SPKR and place the handset on-hook.
Release SPKR
Lift the handset to resume the conversation.

Message Waiting

To leave a Message Waiting Indication at another station

After reaching a busy or unanswered station, press MSG or 7.

To answer a Message Waiting at your station

A flashing Msg LED indicates message waiting.

Press MSG, lift the handset. If the message sender does not answer, go on-hook and repeat this step to skip to the next message.

To cancel a Message Waiting for a station

Press a directory number button + #409.

Override/OCA

To make a Busy Override or OCA call

Dial 2 after dialing the busy station or press 21 or 12 if the called telephone allows Off-hook Call Announce.

To make an Executive Override call (barge-in)

Dial 3 after reaching a busy station

Paging

To make a page announcement

Lift the handset and press a directory number button.
Enter a page zone code:
#30 = All Call Page group.
#311-318 = Station groups.
#39 = All Call Page group with external page zones.
#35-38 or #351-358 = External Page zones (depending on your system size.)

Repeat Last Number Dialed

To Redial the Last Number dialed

Lift the handset, then press an available directory number or line.
Press REDIAL.

Saved Number Redial

To save a number to redial later

After dialing a telephone number (before disconnecting), press SAVE LAST NUMBER.

To redial a saved number

Access an outside line, then press SAVE LAST NUMBER.

Soft Keys

Soft Keys are prompts which appear on an LCD screen. When they are "on," MODE, PAGE, and SCROLL perform the action described by the Soft Key.

To turn Soft Keys on

Press MODE + 71 (when telephone is idle).

To turn Soft Keys off

Press MODE + 70 (when telephone is idle).

Using Soft Keys

The Soft Keys abbreviations shown in the following example are:

TRNS = Transfer
CONF = Conference
JOIN = Join Parties
PGE = Page
STA = Station
RTRN = Return to previous state

Speed Dial

To store a Speed Dial number

Don't lift the handset.
Press REDIAL.
Press an SD button to store the phone number on or SPEED DIAL (or *), then enter an access code. This code represents the stored number.
Press your primary directory number button. (Note: If you need to press the directory number button or LINE access code before dialing a number, you can store it in the speed dial number string.
Enter a CO line Access code (optional) plus the telephone number, then press REDIAL.

To make a call with Speed Dial

Press SD (Note: You may have to press the directory number button and dial the access code of a CO line before pressing SD.) or SPEED DIAL and dial a Speed Dial access code.

Exclusive Hold

Press HOLD button twice. The call may only be picked up from the phone that placed the call on hold.

Recalls

Calls on hold and unanswered calls transferred to another extension will recall to originating extension after a predetermined period of time.

Retrieve Call on Hold

If line appears on phone; press blinking (green) LINE button.

Transferring Calls

Press CNF/TRN button then dial extension number or direct station button, (if available), announce call if desired and hang up. If station is busy, hang up and extension will receive a "camped" on tone.

Intercom Calls

Press speaker button or lift handset, dial extension number or press direct station button (if available).

Responding to Announcement

Press and hold mic button, announce back through handset. (The party on your phone will not hear this).

Name/Number Display

Press intercom button, dial #621.
Enter new name and extension number using keypad.

To change existing name and number

Press intercom button
Dial #621
Pres (*) button to position the cursor
Enter the new name and extension number using the keypad. (#) button toggles between alpha and numberic characters: (0) button scrolls alpha; (*) moves left. (1) moves right).

Time Change

For the Strata DK24, DK56 and DK96

Place the handset on-hook

Dial the time
Press the RDL button
Press the SPKR button

For Strata DK8 and DK16

Place the handset on-hook

Dial the time (HHMMSS).

Hold REDIAL and press the appropriate VOLUME button

Muted Tone Burst Tone Sent For Busy or DND Override, Call Transfer With Camp-On, etc.

Place the handset on-hook
[DN] followed by # 6 1 0 1 then the appropriate VOLUME button
You hear the muted tone for 15 seconds or until disconnected by pressing SPKR

Ringing, Handsfree, Answerback, and Speaker OCA

Place the handset on-hook
[DN] followed by # 6 1 0 2 then the appropriate VOLUME button
Your phone rings for 15 seconds or until disconnected by pressing SPKR

Speaker

While idle, place the handset on-hook
[DN] followed by the appropriate VOLUME button

HOLD

Press once to hold internal or outside calls. The line LED flashes green at the internal hold rate.

...or press twice to enable Exclusive Hold. The Line LED flashes green at the exclusive hold rate.

Exclusive Hold enables you to place a call on hold so that only you or somebody using a Call Pickup code at another station can retrieve it.

To retrieve a call on hold:

Press LINE or {DN} which is on hold

...or if the call is on Exclusive Hold, from another station dial # % plus your [DN], or dial # 5 # 7 plus the CO line number (001-200) that the call is held on.

If a call is not retrieved by a certain time (set in your system programming), it recalls back to your phone. You hear repeated recall tone (or if you are on the phone, you hear recall tone twice).

If the held party hangs up, the call is released and the CO provides a hold-release signal.

If your telephone is programmed for Automatic Hold, existing calls are automatically placed on hold when you answer a call or make another call.

A different call can be held on each [DN] or LINE button on your phone. Each time you press SCROLL, a different [DN] or LINE is selected. The selected button's LED flashes rapidly and you LCD displays information for the call holding on that button.
