John K. Moulton

John K. Moulton joined the Portland Marine Society in 1988 and holds Certificate number 614 (H). One of his chief interests is Portland’s maritime history. He has written histories of the Portland Observatory and several Casco Bay Islands. He holds degrees in mathematics from Harvard University and Bowdoin College. A lifelong teacher and professor, he retired in 1978. Much of his retirement has been spent doing volunteer work for Maine Medical Center, local museums and historical research. A widower, he lives in Falmouth, Maine and has two children and four grandchildren.
