The Promise’s of God Fulfilled

"Now I say that Jesus Christ was a minister of the circumcision for the truth of God, to confirm the promises made unto the fathers:" Rom. 15:8

What is there in the promises of God given to the 'Fathers' and 'Prophets' that has not been fulfilled in the Holy scriptures? There are many today who claim that God has yet to fulfill promises that He gave to His people pior to Christ's first coming. The above passage of scripture should clear up any doubts even if we do not fully understand "…the Truth of God" spoken within it. As believers of Jesus, we know that He was the Christ of God… God manifested in the flesh. The promised messiah which would take away the sins of His people and restore them back to fellowship with God. We come to learn that everything that was written was pointing to Jesus Christ… He’s coming… He’s here… He’s coming back… thus speaks the word of God. "For of him, and through him, and to him, are all things: to whom be glory for ever. Amen." Rom.11:36

Jesus Christ was a minister to the circumcision (the Jews) for the truth of God (he was truth; Jn.14:6) to confirm the promises made to the fathers…" Which promises were confirmed by Jesus Christ? The way it is stated here by Paul, we would have to say all of them; wherever you find a promise… (old testament) then we can say that Jesus Christ is the fulfillment of that promise. The promise of a better place in which our father Abraham looked forward to (see Heb.11:8-16)
has been revealed (see Heb.12:22-24)

The problem arises when we get off track and begin to think in the flesh… taking those things which were meant to be a shadow of the good things to come and making them into the substance. This will anger some people because they are still waiting for promises to be fulfilled and kept by God. They point to the future as though it holds the key for God keeping His promises of …land, rest, peace, fruitfulness, etc.

Peter makes it clear what the Christian is to experience when he becomes a partaker of the fulfilled promises of God…

"Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord, According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue: Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust." 2 Peter 1:2-4.

The bottom line of all this, is that we as His people, are to be partakers
of God’s divine nature… This is what all the promises found in the scripture all lead up to... there can be no greater thing then this… all to the Glory of His Grace!
