I will Draw all Men unto Myself

‘And I, when I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all people to myself."
                                                                                                                       John 12:32
The truth is.. that when Christ was lifted up on Calvary's cross, every man and woman ever born was effected… Jesus truly would draw all men unto himself. There is not a single person ever conceived that is not effected by the coming, the death, and the resurrection of Christ. How is this possible?

We are reminded of the children of Israel while wandering in the wilderness; in their disobedience God sent poisonous snakes among them. God commanded Moses to make a Brass Serpent attaching it to the top of a long pole… the people were then to come and look upon the Brass serpent and they would then be healed of the poisonous bites and live. (Numbers 21:5-9) The Brass serpent represented both death and life in the camp of the Israelites. We are not told in the Numbers account who and how many people responded to the Brass serpent that Moses set up… or even how many died of the snake bites. But it was Life for those who heeded the message to come and look upon the Brass snake and death for those who did not heed and believe. The Brass Serpent that Moses had set up had indeed passed judgment.

With Christ being lifted up on the cross of Calvary, he has passed judgment upon all men through his death. It is there that the believers sin has been judged and it is there that the believer finds life. Only through the Spirit of God which he has poured out upon those of His choosing can we see this great truth, and come to the foot of the cross were the believers sin has been judged in the person who died there, the Lord Jesus Christ. Just as the Brass serpent became a symbol of death for those who disbelieved and came not "to look upon it", so it is that Calvary has defined for all men the judgment that has taken place upon Sin dividing men into two camps… those who believe and those who do not believe.

The Apostle Paul has put it this way… "But thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumphal procession in Christ and through us spreads everywhere the fragrance of the knowledge of him. For we are to God the aroma of Christ among those who are being saved and those who are perishing. To the one we are the smell of death; to the other, the fragrance of life. And who is equal to such a task?"      2 Cor 2:14-16  NIV

In the end of world history, the day will come that it will be revealed who are the saved as all people will bow before Jesus Christ and confess with there mouth that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the Glory of God, the Father (Phil. 2:9-11). To those who are entering into eternal life (immortality) and those who will perish when death and hell themselves are cast into the the lake of fire where there will be no more place found for them in the economy of God. To be cast into the lake of Fire is the quintessence of what it means to perish.
Beware therefore, lest that come upon you, which is spoken of in the prophets; Behold, ye despisers, and wonder, and perish: for I work a work in your days, a work which ye shall in no wise believe, though a man declare it unto you.  Acts 13:40,41

"What must I do to be saved?"

"While you have the light, believe in the light, so that you may become children of light…"    John 12:36
